Metro Community Health Centers provides various types of health service to Staten Islanders every day. Their work is crucial in supporting our community when they need medical assistance. It was wonderful to meet with them and learn how I can advance their initiatives to support my constituents.
Metro was proud to participate in Community Health Care Association of NYS Advocacy Day in Albany, joining community health centers from across New York to meet with legislators and advocate for the patients and communities we serve.
Together, we pushed for a $300 million investment in community health centers through Medicaid rate reform, protections for the 340B program, full Medicaid reimbursement for telehealth services, and legislation that would allow medical assistants to administer vaccines.
Thank you to the Metro staff who took the time to represent our patients and communities.
